Getting started

Your first hour with newReview

A focused 60-minute setup that gets your account live, your Google profile connected, and your first review request in a customer's inbox.

Most of the value of newReview comes from getting three things in place fast: your Google profile connected, the AI Agent replying to every new review, and your review link in front of real customers. Do those three and the flywheel starts turning.

Before you start. Have these ready: the Google account that owns your Google Business Profile, and the name + email of at least one happy recent customer.

Step 1 — Connect your Google Business Profile (10 minutes)

This is the most valuable single setup step — and it's the entry point for everything else. Open Visibility → Profile and click Connect Google. Sign in with the Google account that owns your profile and grant the two permissions Google asks for.

The moment you connect, your existing Google reviews import automatically — star ratings, dates, reviewer names, and any replies you've already posted all come across. A handful import in seconds; hundreds take 2–3 minutes. You're not starting from zero.

Full walkthrough with screenshots and troubleshooting: Connect Google.

Step 2 — Turn on the AI Agent for replies (5 minutes)

Open Reputation → AI Agent → SEO Agent and switch it on. The AI Agent writes a thoughtful, SEO-rich reply to every new review the moment it lands — in your voice, with your house rules, and with the keywords that get you surfaced in AI search.

This matters more than most owners realize: ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews increasingly recommend local businesses based on what shows up in your review replies. If you're not replying — or you're replying with "Thanks!" — you're invisible to the new generation of local search. The AI Agent fixes that for you automatically.

You stay in control: pick the tone (warm, professional, punchy), add house rules ("always mention we're family-owned"), and choose whether to auto-post 4- and 5-star replies while keeping negative reviews in your manual queue. Most owners auto-post the positive ones and review the negatives themselves. See AI Reply & Agent for the full reference.

Step 3 — Get your review link in front of customers (15 minutes)

Open Reputation → Link to grab your branded review URL and the matching QR code (we generate both). Then pick one place to put it today — whichever makes sense for how you actually serve customers:

You don't need all three. Pick the one that fits your business and ship it today; you can add the others later.

Step 4 — Send your first direct invite (10 minutes)

Pick a recent customer who you know had a good experience. Open Reputation → Requests → Send, enter their name and email (or phone for SMS), and hit send.

That's it — they'll receive your request within seconds. If they don't respond in a few days, Auto-Send will follow up for you automatically. Full walkthrough: Send your first review invite.

Step 5 — Add the widget to your website (15 minutes, optional)

If you have a website, open Visibility → Widgets, pick a style, and copy the snippet onto your homepage or testimonials page. Reviews update automatically — you'll never need to edit the page again. See Website widgets for the embed instructions.
