Managing your subscription
Everything billing-related happens in the secure portal. Here's how to get in, what you can do, and answers to the questions we hear most often.
Opening the billing portal
Visit newreview.co/billing and enter the email address on your subscription. We'll send a one-time secure link that's valid for 15 minutes — click it and you're in the portal.
The link is signed and single-use, so you can request a fresh one any time without worrying about an old link being passed around.
Tip: If you didn't get the email, check spam, then try again. We won't tell you whether an email is registered or not — for security reasons, the "check your inbox" page shows up regardless. If the email is in our system, you'll get the link.
What you can do in the portal
Switch plans
Click Update plan to move between Starter and Growth, or between monthly and annual billing. Plan changes take effect immediately, and proration is set to "no charges or credits" — meaning you move to the new plan today, and the new price applies starting your next billing date. No surprise mid-cycle invoices.
If you're upgrading mid-trial, Stripe requires a payment method on file before the switch can go through. Add a card first, then the switch.
Update your card
Click Payment methods to add, remove, or change the default card. You can also add a backup card — if your primary fails, Stripe will automatically retry with the backup.
Change billing cadence
From Update plan, pick the same plan but a different cadence (e.g. Starter monthly → Starter annual). Annual saves roughly 17% versus monthly. Changes take effect at the end of your current billing period.
Download invoices
Click Billing history to see every invoice we've issued. Click any line for a PDF copy. Invoices include your business name and address (which you can edit at Billing information) and are appropriate for expense reports.
Update billing details
From Billing information, update your billing name, address, VAT/tax ID, and notification email. This is what appears on future invoices — past invoices keep the details that were live when they were issued.
Cancel
Click Cancel plan and confirm. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep access until then. We'll send a confirmation email immediately and a reminder 3 days before access ends.
If you change your mind before the period ends, you can resubscribe from the same portal — no need to start a new account.
What happens to your data after cancellation
Your account stays in a read-only state for 30 days after access ends. During that window you can re-subscribe and pick up exactly where you left off. After 30 days the account is queued for deletion. You'll get one final email before that happens, and you can request immediate deletion any time by replying to it.
Trials
All new accounts start with a 14-day trial. We don't require a card upfront — you can use the full product for those 14 days and only add payment if you decide to continue.
Three days before your trial ends, you'll get an email reminder. If you haven't added a card by the time the trial expires, the account is paused (not deleted) — your data stays put, and adding a card any time after reactivates it.
Common questions
Will I get a refund if I cancel mid-month?
We don't issue automatic refunds on partial months — your access continues to the end of the period you've already paid for. If you have a specific situation (e.g. you were charged for a year you didn't intend to renew), email anthony@newreview.co and we'll work it out.
What happens to my reviews if I cancel?
Reviews you collected through newReview are yours — they live on Google, Facebook, or whichever platform they were posted to. Reviews stored in newReview itself (e.g. private testimonials) stay accessible for 30 days after cancellation in case you want to export them.
Can I pause my subscription instead of cancelling?
We don't offer self-serve pausing, but if you've got a specific reason (seasonal business, extended leave), email us. We'll usually pause the billing for 1–3 months and resume automatically.
Can I get a discount?
Switching from monthly to annual saves about 17%, and we occasionally offer save-coupons in the cancel flow. If you're a multi-location business, multi-location pricing is sharper than buying separate accounts — see Multi-location setup.
I forgot which email is on my account.
If you have access to the email tied to the original Stripe receipt, that's the one. Receipts come from noreply@newreview.co with the subject "Your newReview receipt." Search your inbox for that. Still stuck? Email us with the last four digits of the card on file and we'll help.
