Terms of Service
These are the rules for using newReview. We've tried to keep them plain. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service. Questions go to hello@newreview.co.
1. Who you're dealing with
newReview is a service operated by Fourdots Digital, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. "We," "us," and "newReview" mean Fourdots Digital. "You" means the person or business operating a newReview account.
2. Your account
To use newReview you need an account. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
You must be at least 18, legally able to enter into contracts where you live, and acting on behalf of a real business you have the right to represent. One person can manage multiple business accounts; one business cannot register multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits.
3. Subscription, billing, and trials
- Every account starts with a 14-day free trial. No card required up front. If you don't add a payment method by the end of the trial, your account is paused (not deleted) — add a card any time to reactivate.
- Once you're on a paid plan, we bill in advance on the cadence you chose (monthly or annual) until you cancel.
- Plan changes (e.g. Starter → Growth, or monthly → annual) take effect immediately for access; pricing changes apply on your next billing date.
- You can cancel any time from the billing portal at newreview.co/billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you keep access until then.
- No refunds for partial periods as a default. If you have a specific situation (you were billed for a year you didn't intend to renew, etc.), email us — we resolve these fairly.
- If a payment fails, we'll retry it according to Stripe's standard schedule. After repeated failures, your account is paused until payment is resolved.
- We may change our pricing. If we do, the new pricing applies to your next billing period and we'll email you at least 30 days in advance.
4. Your data is yours
You own everything you put into newReview — your customer lists, the reviews you collect, the replies you write, the videos your customers record. We don't claim ownership of any of it.
You grant us the limited rights we need to actually run the service: to store your data, process it on your behalf, display it to you and to your customers (e.g. on your review page or in widgets you embed), and to share it with the sub-processors listed in our Privacy Policy.
You can export your data any time, and you can request deletion. Details in the Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Send review requests to people without a legitimate prior relationship. newReview is for asking customers you've served, not for cold outreach.
- Violate the policies of the review platforms you operate on (Google, etc.) — e.g. by offering rewards in exchange for reviews, gating customers based on what rating they'll leave, posting fake reviews, or removing legitimate negative reviews.
- Use the service to deceive customers — pretending reviews are from real customers when they aren't, manipulating star ratings, fabricating responses.
- Send spam, illegal content, or harassment through any messaging channel we provide (email, SMS, WhatsApp).
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or interfere with the service, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts.
- Resell or sublicense access without our written permission (multi-location and agency arrangements are fine when set up through us).
- Use the service for anything illegal where you operate or where your customers are.
If you violate these rules, we may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without refund.
6. Third-party services
newReview integrates with services we don't operate — Google, Stripe, Resend, MySaaS, and others (see Privacy Policy). Your use of those services is governed by their terms. If a third-party service is unavailable, changes its terms, or terminates our access, parts of newReview may stop working through no fault of ours.
7. Your responsibilities under review-platform rules
Google and other review platforms have their own rules about how you can collect and respond to reviews. You are responsible for following them. newReview is built to make compliance easy (we don't gate reviews, we don't fabricate, we don't offer rewards), but ultimately you operate your own Google Business Profile and other accounts. If you violate a platform's policies, the consequences (review removal, profile suspension) are between you and that platform.
8. Service availability
We work hard to keep newReview running and aim for 99.9% uptime on a monthly basis, but we don't offer a formal SLA on standard plans. We may need to take the service down for maintenance, and unplanned outages happen. We'll do our best to keep these short and to communicate when they affect you.
We may change, improve, or remove features at any time. Material removals of features you actively use will be communicated in advance.
9. Intellectual property
The newReview software, branding, design, and content (other than your data) belong to Fourdots Digital. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service for the duration of your subscription. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the service itself.
10. Termination
You can terminate any time by cancelling from the billing portal.
We can terminate or suspend your access if you breach these Terms, if your payments fail repeatedly, if we're required to by law, or if we're discontinuing the service. If we terminate without cause (e.g. we're shutting the service down), we'll refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.
On termination, you can export your data for 30 days. After that, your data is deleted in line with the retention schedule in the Privacy Policy.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
newReview is provided "as is" and "as available." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it'll meet every specific outcome you have in mind (e.g. a specific star rating, a specific search rank, a specific number of reviews).
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) CAD $100. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption — even if we've been told such damages were possible.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fourdots Digital and its team from any claim or demand (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your violation of a review platform's policies or any applicable law, (c) content you submit or send through the service, or (d) your infringement of someone else's rights.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of Toronto, Ontario, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
If you're a consumer protected by mandatory local consumer laws (e.g. in the EU), nothing here removes the rights those laws give you.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes, we'll email you at least 30 days before they take effect. Minor wording or clarification updates may happen without notice but will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Other
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us and supersede any prior agreements about the service.
- Severability. If a court decides any part of these Terms isn't enforceable, the rest still applies.
- No waiver. If we don't enforce something, that doesn't mean we've given it up.
- Assignment. You can't assign these Terms without our written consent. We may assign them as part of a sale or restructuring of the business.
- Force majeure. Neither side is liable for delays caused by events outside reasonable control (natural disasters, war, internet outages, third-party service failures, etc.).
